Abstract

This article is based on the contributions of qualitative and exploratory research whose main purpose was to contribute to the production of knowledge in a field that has been little explored in the technical-professional modality: teacher training. First, we present the background that allows us to identify the gap in the study of topics related to the training of those who teach in ETP. Then, we contextualize what was a policy of initial and in-service teacher training with particular characteristics: the Technical-Professional Education Teaching Program concurrent with basic qualifications. We are interested in presenting this training experience, which was pioneering in the history of teacher training in the province of Santa Fe (2010-2019) and which is worth highlighting 20 years after the enactment of Law No. 26,058, which promoted major changes in technical schools. In the post-neoliberal context, the rule of law strengthened the training of those who teach in this modality of the educational system, guaranteeing the right to higher education. Finally, we leave open some questions that are  redefined by the current underfunding of public policies and the shifting role of the state.
